pHion pH Strips – 90 strips
Suggested adult usage: In order to gain full insight into the pH of your body fluids, it is recommended to test both urine and saliva.
SALIVA: Take a saliva reading before and after meals. The alkaline levels of your saliva should be greater after meals because there are an abundance of alkaline-rich minerals in saliva. Then test your saliva 60 minutes after a meal. If the pH level is lower than 6.75, then your alkaline mineral reserves are low.
URINE: For best test results, test your second urination in the morning. You will likely see urine pH become more alkaline as the day progresses. Test frequently during the day, and determine an average.
Is your pH balanced? Find out by testing! Our pHion pH Strips:

Why are pH levels important?
Virtually all degenerative health problems are associated with excess acidity in the body. When you eat, drink, absorb, inhale, etc. a greater number of acid-forming items than alkaline-forming, this can occur. It is said that certain health problems cannot exist when the pH is maintained in an alkaline state. To achieve this balanced, alkaline pH, you need to take in an abundance of alkaline-forming items and few acid-forming. This is one of the reasons that a diet high in raw fruits and vegetables is so good for you! These foods generally increase the pH, making it more alkaline (not to mention all the other benefits they provide).
What happens when you don’t eat right?
In an era of processed snacks, microwaved dinners, and fast food, many people are consuming way too many acid-forming foods, beverages, drugs, etc. To maintain good health, the body is constantly seeking to get rid of these excess acids that irritate the tissues and deplete them of minerals.
Kidneys and your pH
One of the principal systems the body uses for this purpose is the renal system (kidneys). The normal rate of acid excretion through the kidneys gives urine a pH that falls between 6.75 and 7.25. By testing the degree of acidity of the urine, you can determine whether your body is eliminating a normal quantity of acids. If the body is excreting excess acids, the urinary pH will be more acidic (lower). If the body is at the point where it is excreting this much acid, it may be an indication that the body is already saturated and therefore in an acid state.
Saliva and your pH
Another indicator of the overall pH balance in your body is the pH of your saliva. When healthy, the pH of blood is 7.4, spinal fluid is 7.4, and saliva is 7.4. Thus the pH of saliva parallels the extracellular fluid and represents the most consistent and most definitive physical sign of overall internal health. When your body has the mineral reserves that it should, the abundance of minerals will show up in a saliva pH test as a pH reading of 7.0 to 7.50. A low (acidic) saliva pH reading indicates that the alkaline mineral reserves in your body are depleted, usually from being used to buffer excess acids throughout the body.
Discover your body’s pH by using pHion pH Strips. These strips are made specifically to test saliva and urine, and are the most accurate and economical test strips on the market!
What Doctor’s Are Saying:
• Christopher Vasey, N.D., author of The Acid Alkaline Diet has this to say about pHion pH Strips, “pH testing is very important in order to gauge the health of your internal environment. I used to recommend using pH paper, until I discovered these excellent pH strips. They are a lot more effective in helping one determine precise pH measurements. I advise all of my clients to use pH Strips.”
• “I get hundreds of calls for pH testing materials. pH testing is very complex. There are individual pH testing substances for everything, but they are very expensive. However, this particular strip is reasonably priced. I have looked a long time and through many companies to find this high a quality of pH strips.” – Dr. Ted Baroody, author of Alkalize or Die, on pHion pH StripsTM (formerly Alkalive pH Strip)
Why pH Strips instead of ph paper?
Compare pH StripsTM with standard pH paper from rolls. Paper tends to bleed when it gets wet, making the determination of the correct color quite a challenge. pH Strips are different – the chemical reagent is affixed to a plastic strip. No paper, no bleeding, no mess; easy testing. Also, due to the narrow range in pH of urine and saliva (generally 5.8 to 7.6), it is imperative that a pH test strip give a clear indication in small pH unit increments. Ours do. Our test strips give an indication in .25 pH unit increments, and test a range of 4.5 to 9.0. Plus, our pH strips use the double color indicator method, allowing for a more accurate determination of the pH value of what you are testing. Throw away the pH paper, and pick up the pH Strips.
Why are there 2 color pads on the strip?
Our double pad indicator strips offer superior accuracy over single pad strips or paper. Because lighting conditions can vary and color perception is subjective, 2 reference points allows for better determination of pH!
Our pHion pH StripsTM come complete with directions, indicator color chart, and a guide to how to interpret results. Don’t trust your body to just any litmus pH paper!
